The code holds SSID, encryption and password in the WIFI format. Special characters in the password are escaped correctly so even complex keys work. Put it on the window, the counter or the table.

Is my password safe here?
The code is generated only in your browser; the password is never sent to a server. Anyone who sees the code can scan it, so place it where guests are meant to have access anyway.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Recent iOS and Android cameras recognise Wi-Fi codes directly.
What does hidden network mean?
If your SSID is not broadcast visibly, enable the toggle. Then the code also connects hidden networks.
